Durham Alumnae – Making Moves that Make a Difference
We are excited to welcome you to a virtual visit of Durham Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated via our website.
The Durham Alumnae Chapter is honored to continue to serve the greater Durham community. Through our illustrious sisterhood of nearly 400 college educated women, we are continuing to make a positive impact in the community. Our vision for this biennium is “Durham Alumnae – Making Moves that Make a Difference”. Through this focus, we will continue to implement innovative, impactful programs that make a difference in the Durham community.
Durham Alumnae Chapter was chartered in 1931 and has been faithfully serving the Durham area for over 90 years. Throughout this time, Durham Alumnae has dedicated itself to the ideals set forth by the national Founders of our organization and the Charter Members of our chapter. We are committed to developing new opportunities which allow us to affect positive social, political, educational and economic change in the local area.
We are proud of our history and will continue to serve our community with programs implemented and centered on our core mission and values that are based on the Sorority’s
Five Point Programmatic Thrust:
• Educational Development
• Economic Development
• International Awareness and Involvement
• Political Awareness
• Physical and Mental Health
If you are a member of our dynamic sisterhood and are looking for a chapter, we invite you to join us at a chapter meeting and/or an event. We welcome you to browse our website for more information about the Durham Alumnae Chapter as we continue to “Make Moves that make a Difference in Durham”.
